Photoshop 13.0.4 Update is a Mac specific update that improves the functionality of existing Photoshop utilities. The 13.0.4 update came out in 2017 and has since been replaced by 13.1.x updates that arrived in early February of 2018.

For those that don't know, Photoshop is a subscription-based graphic design software that lets users combine composite images, draw images, and render 3D objects in space. It's currently one of the most popular and extensive graphic design softwares available now.

Primarily, the 13.0.4 Photoshop update improves specific utilities within Photoshop. It also better allows Photoshop to pair with the Creative cloud ecosystem, making it easier for individuals to push their creations out into the world.

In order to properly update an older version of Photoshop, users may need to toggle their settings and deactivate their current CS6 version. Simply click "Deactivate", close Photoshop, and run the Uninstaller program found in the Photoshop CS6 folder.

Afterwards, users should head to the "Download Versions" tab in the Creative Cloud. After the installation is complete, users are able to login to the licensed software with their standard Adobe ID.

When the installation is complete, the user should quit the program and then re-open to fully apply the new settings.

Although these steps are tricky and unintuitive, the new 13.0.4 version is preferred by users for how it improves workflow processes between the Photoshop application and the Creative Cloud.

Users can save cloud documents to work easily between Mac, Windows, and tablet platforms since all work is saved without the user even noticing. PSD documents, a special Photoshop-specific file format, now include all layer metadata and can be ported to other applications that support the same file type.

Additionally, the new update includes a handful of new brushes and other customized drawing materials. There are improved gradients, shapes, swatches, and styles that can be applied effortlessly. Many users comment that preset options are much easier to find since after the 13.0.4 update.
